LocalVeteranDiscounts.com came about when the founder, Jeffrey Wagner, began searching the internet for businesses who were Veteran Friendly. He found that there were many businesses who were veteran friendly but there was no comprehensive site that would inform other veterans of their existence. LocalVeteranDiscounts.com was started and went live in 2007.

Jeffrey Wagner is a Marine Corps veteran who served from 1987 to 1994. He joined the Marine Corps to travel the world and serve his country. His first duty assignment was as at the Pentagon and Henderson Hall. His next assignment took him to Hawaii where he was assigned to I co. 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines. His unit participated in Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1990 - 1991. His next duty assignment was with Marine Security Guard battalion, this assignment afford him the opportunity to travel to N'Djamena, Chad and Santiago, Chile. He completed his elistment in 1994 and returned to the civilian world, however, he never lost his pride in the Marine Corps.
